Avoid Lines and Missing out on CE Credits
|
We are excited to bring you the 2022 Annual Spring Meeting (ASM22) starting in just two days! We can’t wait to welcome you back and reconnect. We know that waiting in lines can be annoying and standing in one while your course starts could mean missing out on valuable CE credits. So, before you join us, there are a few things you need to know. For full information, visit the ASM website and read the Final Program.
- Health & Safety
We take the health and safety of everyone attending ASM22 very seriously. If you’re feeling ill, please do not come to the ASM. If you are a Canadian resident, you must show identification (with your full name and date of birth) along with your enhanced vaccination certificate with scannable QR code indicating you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Others may show whatever constitutes proof of vaccination in your home jurisdiction.
We will only accept a valid Ontario government-issued QR code showing proof of medical exemption. Once your QR code is scanned you will be provided with a wristband which must be worn for the entire duration of ASM22. If you remove or damage your wristband you will need to return to vaccine checkpoints and show your QR code again to receive a new wristband.
Avoid long show day lineups! We recommend you pick up your proof-of-vaccination wristband and your badge (if it wasn’t mailed to you) early on Wednesday, May 4 between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the MTCC South Building.
Wearing a mask is not mandatory, however, we strongly encourage you to wear a mask at all times during the event except when eating or drinking. Visit our Keeping You Safe page for full details.
- Get There Early!
Lines, traffic and public transit can all cause delays, so give yourself plenty of time to get in. We recommend you arrive at least 90 minutes before the start of your first course. Courses start as early as 9:00 a.m. (see course times). If you arrive more than 30 minutes late for your course you will not get CE credits for attending. If you are planning on driving to ASM22, be aware of downtown construction and very limited parking in downtown Toronto. Need help finding your way to ASM22? Visit our Getting to ASM22 page.
- Your Badge Is Essential
You need a badge to access ASM22. If you registered by March 30 and did not receive your badge in the mail, please bring your registration confirmation to print one at the self-service desk(s). Your badge will also have your course itinerary at the bottom. There is a $15 charge for lost badges. Registration is in the MTCC South Building, 600 level, and is open as follows:
- Wednesday, May 4 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Courses Are Ticketed
All courses at ASM22 are ticketed. You can purchase tickets to paid courses on-site if there is room. Free tickets are no longer available for Category 2 and 3 courses. You will need to wait in a stand-by line for the Category 2 and 3 courses outside each meeting room if you do not have tickets or arrive late. Get more course information.
- Download Your Speaker Handouts
Speaker handouts are available online. Please note that not all speakers provide a handout.
- Use Your Phone (Responsibly)
We want you to share your experience at ASM22 with the world. Use #ASM22 in all your social media posts. Be sure to follow the ODA on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can also download the ASM22 mobile app. With the app, you can stay organized and get helpful daily reminders. Please keep your phone on silent/vibrate while attending courses or workshops.
- We Want Your Feedback
This year, you will be sent a course evaluation (survey) by email each day of the ASM for the courses you attend. Please take the time to provide your feedback. It’s important to us and we use it to make each ASM better.
- Have Fun!
Don’t miss the opening ceremonies on Thursday, May 5, featuring keynote speaker and Olympian, Silken Lauman and on Friday, May 6, happiness guru Neil Pasricha. Keynote presentations take place from 8 to 9 a.m. Make sure you take some time throughout the day to relax and visit the Exhibits Floor and some of the complementary features. And, finally, if you signed up in advance, don’t forget to attend the complimentary cocktail reception on the Exhibits Floor on May 5 and 6 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

ASM22 Health & Safety
Proof of vaccination or a valid exemption is required to attend the ASM. You will receive a wristband indicating you’ve had your QR code scanned (Canadian residents) or other valid proof verified (international residents). The wristband must be worn for the duration of ASM22. We strongly recommend you wear a mask at all times except when eating and drinking. Keep checking the ASM22 website for full details and the latest information on our protocols.
