This document summarizes the authority of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) in relation to infection prevention and control, with a specific focus on understanding when a CDHO assessment or inspection of a dental hygienist will impact a dentist’s practice and how dentists should respond if a dental hygienist in their practice is inspected as part of an investigation by the CDHO.
