The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking to recruit a Dentist (part-time) to join the CAMH Dental Clinic on a Wednesday, with a possibility of adding a Thursday.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centers in its field. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is a Pan America Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. With a dedicated staff of more than 5,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 38,000 patients each year. In addition, CAMH delivers education programs to over 40,000 healthcare professionals each year.
The responsibilities as a clinical dentist at CAMH will include:
• Providing basic dental treatments such as restorations, extractions, root canal treatments, and dentures
• Communicate and work with referring physicians, nurses, and social workers in the interest of patient care, when needed
• Support and supervise third and fourth year students from University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry during their hospital rotation at the dental clinic
• Adhere to CAMH and University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry policies and procedures
Qualifications
The successful applicant must:
• Hold a DDS/DMD degree, or equivalent
• Be a member in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• 1 or more years of experience is preferred but not a requirement
• Prior experience in a hospital setting is an asset
• Experience with implant placement/restoration is an asset but not a requirement
