Afternoon Session: Beyond Treatment: The Dentist’s Role in Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship | Category 1 – 3 CE Points (Pending)
2500 Canadians will be diagnosed with a Head and Neck Cancer with 1700 of those diagnosis secondary to the HPV oncotype. Dr. Saunders has been a strong advocate for oral cancer and early detection and tobacco intervention as both can increase survival among other benefits. Finding a cure for cancer is the ultimate goal but not really within our scope for all cancers. Preventing cancer is within our scope however. Prevention of HPV associated Head and Neck cancers is preventable. It is our responsibility as health care professionals to advocate for our patients in promoting the safety and the benefits of vaccination.
