An independent task force struck by the ODA Board of Directors has completed its review of recent social media activity by Dr. Jonathan Mayer, Director and Vice-President. The task force was created to review that social media activity, along with related communications received by the ODA about the issue, and to prepare a report to assist the Board in making decisions that are fair and consistent with the law and the association’s governance.
To preserve the independence of their work, the task force consisted of outside experts with relevant expertise. It did not include ODA members, volunteers, or staff, or contractors who are otherwise engaged by the ODA.
The task force delivered its confidential report to the Board on March 25. Maintaining the confidentiality of the report is important to protect the integrity of the process. We appreciate the task force’s timely and thorough work.
The Board is now reviewing the report and will consider its findings and recommendations in confidence, in accordance with the law and its governance responsibilities. Once the Board has completed its review and finalized its decisions, members will be updated on this matter.
