Description
We are looking for a strong Level 2 Dental Assistant to join as another DA to one of our Dentists. We are looking for someone who is interested in digital dentistry, oral surgeries, and growing withing the practice.
We have a designated Compliance department, Inventory Specialist and Sterilization Technicians. We offer great continuing education and encourage our team to always support one another. We strongly believe in our team dynamic and everyone’s outlook on a positive work environment.
Duties:
- Identifying gaps in clinical schedule and making recommendations to the Regional Manager overseeing the practice’s performance;
- Establishes strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behavior;
- Deliver optimal levels of continuity between patient and service provider;
- Demonstrate active listening and empathy to patients using effective communication skills;
- Clinical chairside assisting with all dental procedures;
- Ensuring that the dentist you are assisting has the necessary dental supplies on hand to perform dental procedures;
- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments in accordance with ministry of health and practice protocols;
- Cleaning and preparing treatment rooms in accordance with ministry of health and practice protocols;
- Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary;
- Assist in updating and maintaining client dental records;
- Ensure all treatment consent forms have been completed and gathered;
- Provide post-operative care instructions;
- Schedule patient next appointments;
- Understanding and adhering to Radiographic Quality Assurance Controls, Infection Control, WHMIS and all other applicable laws and regulations to provide a safe environment for patients and staff;
- Ensuring all clinical and storage areas are clean and organized;
- Caring for dental equipment;
- Monitoring and ordering dental supply inventory on a weekly and monthly basis as required;
- Lab cases (out-going and in-coming);
- Suggesting effective ways of maintaining supply costs within budget;
- IV sedation protocols and tracking drug/equipment expiry dates (if applicable).
Qualifications
NDAEB certified;
2 years of dental assisting; and
Bilingual is preferred.
