The ODA Board of Directors is aware of member concerns regarding recent social media activity involving Dr. Jonathan Mayer, Director and Vice-President of the ODA. The Board takes these concerns seriously.
The Board discussed this matter at its meeting today, February 6, 2026. Based on that discussion, the Board is initiating a review process. To ensure it is a fair and objective process, the Board is striking an independent committee to conduct this review in a timely manner.
We remain committed to a thorough process, and we will provide further information on the review once the committee has been appointed.
As an immediate step, Dr. Mayer has removed the social media posts that drew concern.
Some members have also reported receiving unsolicited emails regarding this matter at their personal or professional email addresses without having provided consent for such communications.
While we do not have any indication that ODA systems were the source of these email addresses, we are investigating how member email addresses were obtained and used. Protecting member information is a priority for the ODA.
